Modern window valance – A valance is a form of window treatment mounted at the top of a window. A beaded modern window valance takes traditional shapes and crafts them into long strands of beads that are typically attached to a belt. This valance hangs solely on the window or of a curtain, or other valance. The look is airy and fresh and designed to bring some glitter to the window.
Make a beaded modern window valance, Tape sheet 1/4-inch graph paper together until they are wider than your window. Hold the paper up to the window and mark the edge of the window. Measure between the marks on graph paper to find center, mark them with a vertical center line from top to bottom. Tape graph paper down on your work. Set bowls of beads in colors and shapes that you will spend on your work. String beads on beading wire in the order you prefer. Finishing with a larger bead followed by a small bead large enough to block the hole in the large bead. Thread your needle back through your beads, starting from the large gem.
Thread your second set of beads. Normally you repeat the sequence of pearls except near the end where modern window valance change height. Place your pearl strands 1/4 or 1/2 inch apart along the graph. Continue beating until your valance is complete. Measure the width of the tape to fit the width of the area where you want to mount the valance. Add an inch to the length and cut your ties with equal amounts at both ends. Valance can be mounted to the bottom edge of the window trim or against the window frame or modern window valance board. Fold the end of the tape during 1/2 inches and glue.
