Bay window rod – Dressing a bay window is easy if you use right type of hardware. Bay window curtain rod set typically includes three curtain rods and supporting hardware. Supporting hardware includes permanent post bracket attached to left and right sides of bay window and two swivel or hinge bracket which is mounted on sides of central window
Place pieces of bay window rod kit on a flat surface near bay window. Identify left, central, and right bars and place them on flat surface in same configuration that they will be placed in window. Place hinge or pivot brackets between center and left and right poles. Place terminal brackets at tip of left and right rods. Create a low pencil mark at desired vertical plane of rods near center of central window. Using a ruler, measure distance from top of window to mark. Measure and mark positions of terminal ends of left and right sticks on wall or window frame, and then they are in same vertical plane as original brand. Measure and mark left and right of central window frame or wall at same level. Inner hinged brackets will be placed as close as possible to corners of main window frame.
Measure and mark vertical center of brackets. Holding each of appropriate hardware in place, mark through screw holes in brackets on wall or window frame. Remove bracket and drill a pilot hole in wall in each of screw-hole marks. Attach mounting bracket on wall or window frame with a screwdriver and screws in bay window rod set. Insert ends of central rod into hinge bracket, as instructed by manufacturer. Insert hinge end of left or right rod on hinged brackets rotate rod to insert farthest to corresponding terminal fittings. Repeat to hang last rod.
